A sociable home for graduates and working professionals. And those becoming graduates and working professionals.
We can’t say you’ll meet the love of your life here. But you might. In Salt River, of all places. You’ll certainly make lifelong friends.
And although we don’t have the best address, we’re so conveniently situated:
6 minutes walk to The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, 12 minutes to the soon to be complete new Amazon HQ in Observatory. Near many useful places, see below.
A MyCiti bus and Salt River train station both 300 meters. Mad taxis and reliable Golden Arrow buses close by and close-ish to a Jammie Shuttle.
More importantly, we always have the most interesting mix of tenants. A broadening of mind experience.
Call us if you think you’ll fit in with other ambitious people.
Artists, marketers, a yacht captain, a neuroscientist, geneticist, chefs at top restaurants, environmentalists, engineers, a town planner, fashion designers, pharmacists, psychologist, doctors, managers, IT specialists. We’ve also had accountants.
Students of advertising, architecture, business management, culinary arts, engineering, environmental management, film making, graphic design, medicine, real estate.
All sociably, happily, sharing a lounge, kitchen, the braai and smokers courtyard, and the bathrooms. Nothing en suite, sorry, but you’ll get used to it.
When you’re not in the mood to be sociable, you can retire to your furnished bedroom.
For student tenants, our preference is for 3rd year / Hons. If you’re not yet, then convince us you’re a SERIOUS and AMBITIOUS student.
(If you think you’re the life and soul of the party, please knock on someone else’s door.)
Every past student chef is at a big name 5 star South African restaurant: The Test Kitchen, Pot Luck Club, La Colombe, Homespun, La Petite Colombe in Franschhoek, Shortmarket Club Johannesburg, Waterside at the V&A. One has been a judge on chef competitions, worked in USA, lectures to budding chefs.
An engineering student won the top award for his work, the only one out of 20 interns to be offered a permanent job.
Another student won Best Chef award in her category at the world-renowned Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town.
A number of CA students passed their final exams while with us.
We’re 1.2km to a UCT Jammie Shuttle stop | 300 mts from Salt River train station and a MyCiti bus to the front entrance of CPUT D6 and the Civic Centre.
